Ms. Gerri Latting, Principal
Ms. Gerri Latting is the principal of Horace Mann and Nathan Hale Pre-k Schools. She will be working closely with Ms. Alma Cano who is transitioning into her new role as Director of Early Childhood programs within our district. Ms. Latting joins us with over 10 years of experience in the field of early childhood education and will be a great addition to our family.
Our Early Childhood services include two programs recently awarded State funds: 1) A Birth to Three/Families First program receiving $313,000 dedicated to supporting our families by providing home visiting services for children prenatally through the age of three. This strengths-based service is focused on helping parents view themselves as their child’s first teacher, develop personal goals, identify & celebrate developmental milestones in their children and provide referrals as appropriate; 2) A Preschool for All program receiving $1.5 million committed to educating students between the ages of three and five in a supportive developmentally appropriate manner. Our curriculum and assessment systems are fully aligned to the Kindergarten Common Core Standards and are reflected in each child’s individual portfolio of development gathered through authentic assessments. In addition to these two programs, we also offer early childhood special education services to eligible students ages three to five. If you know of any families with young children between the ages of birth through age five, please refer them to our programs! For more information feel free to contact:
